The Huawei Watch GT 7 is here, promising a battery life of up to 21 days, a 3,000-nit AMOLED display, and a wide range of features. With an NFC chip, a GPS module, and more than 110 sport modes, the smartwatch is marketed as a true all-rounder.

Along with the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro, Huawei also announced the more affordable Huawei Watch GT 7 today. Although the more affordable model features a stainless steel and plastic case instead of titanium and ceramic, and does not include an ECG, the features are otherwise nearly identical. Compared to its predecessor as well, there are no notable hardware differences aside from changes to the available colors and watch bands.

Instead, the Huawei Watch GT 7 is said to offer several software improvements, led by a Pro Ski mode that can graphically display ski slopes and measure G-forces. The smartwatch supports over 110 sports modes, including an improved cycling mode that allows you to plan your route in advance on a smartphone and transfer it to the smartwatch. The watch is available either as a smaller 41-mm version with a 9.9-millimeter-thin case and a simple, round bezel, or as a 46-mm version with a 10.9-millimeter-thick case and a slightly more distinctive bezel.

The round AMOLED display measures 1.32 inches or 1.47 inches diagonally, depending on the model, but always offers a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Huawei has included a heart rate and SpO2 sensor as well as a skin temperature sensor. The smartwatch features speakers and microphones, an NFC chip, a GPS module, and Bluetooth 6.0. The battery lasts up to 21 days on the larger model, or seven days with the Always-on Display enabled. The smaller version offers a battery life of 14 and five days, respectively.

Pricing and availability

The Huawei Watch GT 7 will first be released in China. The smaller 41-mm version costs ¥1,588 ($235), while Huawei is pricing the 46-mm model at ¥1,688 ($249). Similar to what happened with the Huawei Watch GT 6, it likely won’t be long before the Huawei Watch GT 7 launches internationally.
