Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 leaked, including design and wireless upgrade
The Samsung Galaxy Fit3 ($45 on Amazon) was released in February 2024. Two and a half years later, Samsung appears to be preparing to launch a successor, as the Galaxy Fit4 has already been certified by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The certification documents include a graphic representation of the wearable’s back, which appears to differ very little from the Galaxy Fit3. As before, Samsung has incorporated a PPG sensor into a pill-shaped module. Above it, two metal pins are visible, which are likely used for charging. The buttons at the top and bottom for changing the wristband also remain unchanged. On one side, a button and a small opening are visible once again.
In terms of wireless standards, there is only one improvement – the Galaxy Fit4 receives an upgrade from Bluetooth 5.3 to Bluetooth 5.4 and also supports Bluetooth Low Energy. However, you won’t find Wi-Fi, an NFC chip for contactless payments, a built-in GPS module, an ultra-wideband (UWB) chip, or even an LTE modem on the Galaxy Fit4.
That’s a shame, since some competitors, such as the Honor Band 11 Pro, now feature a GPS module. The certification suggests that, like its predecessor, the wearable will be marketed as an affordable fitness tracker with a heart rate sensor, sleep tracking, and a touchscreen. It’s not yet known when the Samsung Galaxy Fit4 will hit the market, but it usually takes only a few weeks to a few months from FCC certification to the launch date.
