Casio debuts new affordable diver-style watches with rotating aluminum bezels

At ¥6,050 (about $38), the MRW-240H is Casio's cheapest entry into dive-watch territory this month. There's no ISO 6425 certification here either, just an aluminum bezel ring and a rotating dive-timer look. Casio Japan has it listed for August 2026 across three colorways: MRW-240H-1E1JF in all black, MRW-240H-1E2JF in a red-and-blue "Pepsi" bezel, and MRW-240H-1E3JF in black-and-green. All of them carry the same spec sheet and price tag.

Underneath the exterior, you get a straightforward analog quartz build: a 47.9 x 44.6 x 12.3 mm resin case with an aluminum bezel insert, 39 grams on the wrist, plastic glass over the dial, and a resin strap that adjusts across a 145-215 mm range. Casio rates it to 10 ATM, adds a date window, and estimates roughly three years of battery life with average monthly drift of about 20 seconds.

The listing also has Casio's "Eco-Package" tag. The company uses this designation elsewhere to flag reduced or recyclable retail packaging rather than any change to the watch itself. That's worth noting, since it's easy to assume the label refers to materials in the case or strap, but the spec sheet doesn't describe either as recycled or biomass-based.

Casio has run this same rotating-bezel, resin-case template across various MRW numbers for years. The company just swaps bezel colors and dial accents instead of reworking the case. What's interesting here is just how little separates the $38 asking price from watches that are more serious about the whole "dive-watch" persona. This lineup prioritizes the styling first, instead of the specifications.
