The new Casio Pro Trek PRJ-B001EX is for outdoor users who need to grab small items without digging through pockets mid-activity.
Casio's Pro Trek PRJ-B001EX is official: a Hiker Line watch whose reversible band unzips into a coin pouch. Confirmed specs include 10-bar WR, Tough Solar, Bluetooth, and a slightly heavier 51 g case than early leaks suggested. Ships August 2026, ¥33,000.

Casio's Pro Trek PRJ-B001EX-1JR is officially listed on Casio Japan's site, effectively confirming what those leaked renders showed days ago: this Hiker Line watch really does double as a zip-up coin pouch. The reversible band unclips from the wrist and folds into a soft-shell case that swallows the entire watch face, with a coin and parking-ticket pocket built into the strap itself and a carabiner loop for clipping onto a backpack or tent.

Casio Japan markets the design for outdoor users who need to grab small items without digging through pockets mid-activity. It's a niche idea, and it draw some skepticism when the renders first surfaced — multiple fans argued the concept looked more like a G-Squad accessory than a traditional Pro Trek tool watch. The official listing doesn't settle that argument, but it does confirm the hardware: 10-bar water resistance, a rotary guard bezel that locks against accidental button presses, Tough Solar charging, and Bluetooth syncing that logs position and time to Casio's companion app.

Specs land close to what leaked, with one correction: the earlier estimate of a 44-gram case undersold it slightly. Casio's own listing puts the PRJ-B001EX at 51 grams, in a 50.3 x 46 x 13.6 mm case built largely from biomass resin. Battery life without solar charging runs roughly seven months in normal use, stretching to about 18 months in power-save mode.

Casio Japan prices the PRJ-B001EX-1JR at ¥33,000 tax included, which converts to roughly $208 at current exchange rates, though Japan pricing rarely maps directly onto eventual US or EU retail. Preorders are open, and release is set for August 2026.
