One heat wave follows another, and chances are good that 2026 will be the hottest year on record. A Japanese fashion label is now adapting to this hot reality by equipping a classic shirt with two fans to prevent heat buildup and sweat stains.

While air conditioning is virtually indispensable for combating heat waves at home and at work, wearables are designed to make hot summer days outdoors more bearable. To this end, Dyson, for example, has already launched the HushJet Mini Cool ($99 on Amazon), a fan that can be worn around the neck. The Japanese fashion label Yofuku no Aoyama now aims to offer an even more discreet solution.

To discreetly integrate cooling into everyday office life, the company has simply built two fans into a standard shirt. The position is said to have been chosen so that the fans aren’t noticeably bothersome when sitting, and the airflow barely moves the shirt when viewed from the front. The fans are designed to provide effective cooling even when the shirt is left unbuttoned. The shirt itself is made of 100 percent polyester, features snap buttons, and can be machine-washed after the fans have been removed.

Each fan weighs about 95 grams. Power is supplied via a USB-A cable with two connectors, one for each fan. The shirt comes with a 165-gram power bank, which is designed to provide between 3.5 and 10 hours of cooling, depending on the fan setting. The fans can be controlled at three different levels, allowing them to move 31 to 53 liters of air per second.

Pricing and availability

The Yofuku no Aoyama shirt with two fans is now available for ¥17,490 yen ($110) in the manufacturer’s Japanese online store, in either dark blue or black. As is common with Japanese products, direct import via platforms such as ZenMarket is possible, though this involves additional costs.
