Google Pixel Watch 5 leaks in promo images with satellite SOS and health upgrades
The highly reliable leaker @OnLeaks posted what are reportedly official promotional images of the next-generation Pixel Watch on MyMobiles. These images show what new features to expect that aren’t listed on a spec sheet.
While the smartwatch doesn’t offer entirely new health features, the promotional images highlight more precise sleep tracking, as Google has validated the algorithms used with reference devices, according to the fine print. Like the Pixel Watch 4 ($399 on Amazon), the Pixel Watch 5 can detect when the heart stops beating and automatically dial emergency services. The satellite SOS feature is also included again and can be used free of charge for two years starting from the date of purchase.
The promotional images confirm that battery life remains unchanged – the smaller 41-mm model offers 30 hours of battery life, while the larger 45-mm version is expected to last 40 hours. Unsurprisingly, Google is promoting the Pixel Watch 5 primarily with Gemini AI features, most of which should also be available on the Pixel Watch 4 after the update to Wear OS 7.
Not least because both models are expected to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2, with the Pixel Watch 5 reportedly receiving upgrades to 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash storage. Google is reportedly including, as usual, a 3,000-nit LTPO AMOLED display, a heart rate and SpO2 sensor, a skin temperature sensor, an ECG, a cEDA sensor, a GPS module, an NFC chip, and UWB. An LTE modem is expected to be offered as an optional upgrade. All remaining details about the Pixel Watch 5 should be confirmed by the launch on August 12 at the latest.
