It's been clear since Google I/O that the former Pixelbook makers are working on a much broader attack on Windows laptops and Apple's MacBooks and will soon be replacing Chromebooks with something entirely new. The first laptops and even a 2-in-1 tablet from Lenovo have now leaked in the form of pictures, that show, how some of the first Googlebooks will look like when they launch this fall.

Google has big plans for the coming weeks. The Made by Google event, which will take place on August 12 this year, will kick off the company’s hardware push for 2026. In addition to the Pixel 11 family and the Google Watch 5, the event will also bring the first Pixel tracker, called the Pixel Tag. It is not yet known whether Google will also use the August launch event to unveil more detailed Googlebook plans, first announced during Google I/O. We expect a second dedicated launch event this fall instead, possibly at IFA starting September 4 in Berlin.

Since Google I/O, it’s been clear what to expect. As successors to the Pixelbook and as a likely replacement for the Chromebooks, Googlebooks from several manufacturers are set to hit the market soon, names mentioned include Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. And it’s precisely the latter that’s now the subject of the first render image leak circulating online, which apparently shows the design of the first Lenovo laptops for the Googlebook family. Interestingly, there will also be a new 2-in-1 tablet from Lenovo, which clearly shows it's part of the Googlebook lineup with the letter “G” instead of a Windows button and “Googlebook” lettering on the left below the keyboard.

Accessories for the Google Books

The specs for this convertible and the laptops shown above are not yet known, but we can already infer some features from the image. For example, the 2-in-1 apparently has four Dolby Atmos speakers built in, also stylus support is included. The two laptops shown in the image feature USB-A and USB-C ports, as well as a “reverse notch design” for the webcam, a very familiar design feature in many of the manufacturer’s laptops. There will also be a new wireless mouse from Lenovo, which features a dedicated AI button and a light strip. The latter can also be seen on both laptops and the 2-in-1, which has a single camera on the back.
