HMD's new tablet will have familiar specs but more RAM, storage, and newer software

In 2024 HMD launched the T21 tablet as its first branded tablet, although in reality, it was just a rebadge of the Nokia T21 (read our review) it released in 2022. Now, it plans to launch a new tablet called the HMD T21 2nd Edition, and a leak has revealed its spec sheet. Based on the details, it is practically the same tablet as the 2024 model, save for a few changes.

According to smashx_60, the HMD T21 2nd edition will have a 10.36-inch IPS display with a 2K resolution and stylus support. It will be powered by the Unisoc T7225 which is a rebadge of the Tiger T612 processor used in the Nokia T21 released in 2024.

HMD will offer the tablet in two configurations — a 4GB RAM model with 128GB of storage and an 8GB RAM model with 256GB of storage. There will be a microSD card slot for adding up to an additional 512GB of storage. The HMD T21 2nd Edition will have an 8MP camera on both sides, dual speakers, an audio jack, Nokia OZO audio, and dual microphones.

It will also have Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, 4G LTE, and NFC. Like its predecessor, it will have an 8200mAh battery capacity with support for 18W wired charging. The leaked spec sheet also mentions the tablet has an IP52 rating like the 2024 version.

HMD will ship the tablet with Android 15, but it is described as “Ready for Android 16”. There's no mention of the available colors, but we are not to keen on exciting colors. The HMD T21 and the Nokia T21 were both available in a single color, so there's a possibility the same will apply to the T21 2nd Edition.

There's no info yet on when HMD will announce the new tablet and how much it will cost. However, unless you really need the newer operating system and want more RAM and storage, you are better off buying the HMD T21 on Amazon for $149.99.
