Grand Seiko launches new limited-edition titanium watch with Spring Drive
Grand Seiko has built an entire design language around natural moments — Mt. Iwate at dawn, snow on lacquered floors, frost on a windowpane. Its newest boutique exclusive follows the same tradition. The SBGA525, dubbed "Sea of Clouds in Gold," is exclusive to the Grand Seiko Salon inside Watches of Switzerland's Jewel Changi Airport boutique in Singapore, and it's limited to just 30 pieces.
Dial-wise, you get a finely textured surface meant to reflect clouds catching the first light of sunrise, with tempered blue accents standing in for the cooler shadows still lingering below. Interestingly, the two announcements describing the watch don't fully agree on how to characterize that color — Watches of Switzerland APAC's own post calls it a "golden dial," while enthusiast account @plus9time describes it as pink. Both are likely talking about the same warm, sunrise-adjacent hue; dial photography on textured Grand Seiko surfaces is notoriously light-dependent, and it's quite plausible the watch looks different depending on the angle it's shot from.
The case itself belongs to Grand Seiko's 62GS heritage design. It is built without an exposed bezel so light can reach the dial from multiple angles rather than being blocked at the edges. Regarding case measurements, the watch measures 43.5 mm across, 16.1 mm thick, with a 51.2 mm lug-to-lug. The 9R65 Spring Drive caliber powers the watch, and it is paired with a titanium case and bracelet.
Neither post lists a retail price, which is pretty normal — pricing for such boutique pieces is usually disclosed directly at the salon rather than published alongside the announcement. Availability is limited to the Jewel Changi Airport location in Singapore.
