Seiko launches new limited-edition Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver with 6R55 automatic caliber

Seiko's newest Prospex limited edition takes its color story from a very specific place: the HBC010 derives its sunray dark-green dial from Lake Hallstatt in Austria. Seiko is paying a lot of attention to detail to what is otherwise a familiar shape — the brand's 1965 Heritage Diver. It's a modern recreation of Seiko's original 62MAS dive watch. Production is capped at 1,400 pieces, and the watch will be sold exclusively in Europe.
The case underneath is the version Seiko revised in 2024. The company reduced the case to 40 mm in diameter, 13 mm in thickness, and 46.4 mm in length, down from 47.6 mm previously, while water resistance improved to 300 meters, up from 200 m before. That update also brought a screw-down crown and caseback, both of which carry over here. The 62MAS design keeps a crown at 3 o'clock, one of the few Seiko dive watches to still do so.
The HBC010's dial sports a green sunray finish with embossed gilt markers and hands, running on Seiko's in-house 6R55 caliber — automatic with manual winding and hacking seconds, 24 jewels, and a 72-hour power reserve. Also, the date window sits at 4:30 rather than the usual 3 o'clock position. The unidirectional bezel matches the dial in dark green with gilt accents, backed by 4,800 A/m of magnetic resistance.
Buyers get two strap options in the box: the updated steel bracelet with a push-button folding clasp, wetsuit extension, and slide adjuster, plus an additional black silicone strap for a more casual, water-ready setup.
Pricing gets a little inconsistent depending on the market. Seiko's UK listing has it at £1,450, while European coverage cites €1,650 as the price. This is a wider gap than typical currency conversion would explain, and could only mean that the UK and Eurozone prices were set independently. Either way, the HBC010 is limited to European retailers, with no indication of a wider release.
