Seiko unveils new limited-edition chronograph with vivid blue dial
Seiko recently unveiled a limited-edition chronograph for the 10th anniversary of Love Live! Sunshine!!, the anime and multimedia franchise built around idol group Aqours. Pre-orders are open now through August 27, 2026, with shipments estimated from April 2027. The watch is priced at $550 USD through international retailers.
For context, Love Live! is a multimedia franchise covering anime, music, video games, and more, centred on teenage girls who form J-Pop idol groups. Aqours, which is the nine-member group from Love Live! Sunshine!!, debuted in 2016 alongside the TV anime, which makes 2026 the group's tenth year.
The design has a lot of franchise-specific details. The dial runs in Aqours' signature blue, with a crystal set at the 10 o'clock index, especially for the anniversary. The phrase "Aqours Sunshine!!" has been taken from the group's live concert countdown performances, and is also incorporated into the dial. The 6 o'clock subdial has the Uranohoshi Girls' High School crest, apparently one of the series' most recognizable emblems. The crown is finished in blue, while the caseback is engraved with the Love Live! Sunshine!! logo and a unique serial number (assigned randomly and non-requestable).
The movement is an undisclosed Japanese quartz chrono with approximately three years of battery life and ±15 seconds per month accuracy. The watch is distributed via Aniplex and The Japanese Factory, and will be available internationally through proxy services. No wider retail availability has been confirmed.
