Seiko's new stainless-steel chronograph now available to buy in select markets
The regional variant we flagged as unconfirmed in our original HGK001/HGK002 coverage has now surfaced properly: HGK001P1 is live on Seiko Singapore's own site, priced at SGD 626.80 (roughly $489) and listed with only one unit in stock as of writing. The "P1" suffix seems to be regional, and it slots the watch into a house sub-collection called "Conceptual Regular." Interestingly, this categorization didn't show up anywhere in the Philippines or US listings we found for the base HGK001.
Specs-wise, there are no changes, as one would expect. The watch ships with the 8T63 quartz chronograph caliber, a 40 mm stainless steel case with a matching steel bracelet, sapphire crystal, and a champagne dial under a gold-toned bezel section. The chronograph measures up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments with split-time capability, LumiBrite covers the hands and hour markers, and water resistance is rated to 100 meters via a pull-out crown — there's no rotating bezel on this reference.
The pricing picture is actually more consistent than it first looked. Between the US retailer figure (~$440), the Philippines listing (~$497), and now Singapore (~$489), the HGK001/HGK001P1 pair lands in a fairly tight band once everything's converted to a common currency. This is a somewhat useful correction to make, since the raw SGD figure on its own reads as a much bigger jump than it actually is.
The "only 1 left in stock" flag on the listing likely implies limited allocation for this market, though it's also standard practice for smaller regional storefronts to list minimal quantities regardless of actual demand, so it's not conclusive evidence of scarcity on its own.
