First invitation to the launch of a new laptop breed from Lenovo, Asus, Acer, and HP has arrived

At Google I/O, the search engine company provided a first preview of a new class of laptops that will primarily replace Chromebooks but presumably also some Android-based tablets and 2-in-1 convertibles. It will run on a new operating system dubbed “AluminumOS.” although it remains to be seen whether this will be the final name for this new mix of Android and Chrome OS.
This will likely be one of the topics at a media event in New York, to which Chrome Unboxed has now received an invitation. The preview event will take place on September 15 and will also bring many new laptops from well-known manufacturers such as Asus, Acer, Lenovo, and HP, some of which have already been seen in leaked images over the past few days. Most recently, for example, a render of a new HP laptop (see above) was leaked by Evan Blass, which also gives us the first glimpse at Google’s new OS interface for laptops.

What we expect from the Googlebooks event on September 15
According to the invitation, high-ranking Google officials will officially unveil the new computing platform. There will also be a demo station where attendees can try out the new laptops from all the OEMs participating in Google's laptop initiative, official benchmark results are also expected on September 15. While this looks very much like an official launch event we should expect the first GoogleBooks to arrive in stores at a later date. At least that was the case with the first Snapdragon X devices.
