Deal | Two positively reviewed builder sims on Steam now discounted to lowest-ever prices

Planet Coaster 2
ⓘ Steam
Planet Coaster 2 is one of the two building games currently discounted to their lowest-ever prices on Steam.
Frontier's theme park sim, Planet Coaster 2, is down to $19.99, its joint-steepest cut yet, while 5PM Studio's historical city builder is also at it's lowest-ever price yet again. Both have improved substantially since launch, and both run on modest hardware.

Two builder-sims worth a look are sitting at their steepest Steam prices in months.

First, Planet Coaster 2 is 60% off. The Frontier Developments' theme park sequel has dropped from $49.99 to $19.99, and that matches the biggest discount it got during the June Summer Sale. You have to construct theme parks with fun water rides and coasters to appease your park guests. The game had a rough start after its November 2024 release and still has a lifetime score of "Mostly Positive" at 74% of 8,446 English reviews. The good news is that recent reviews are much healthier: 86% of the last 286 reviews are positive, thanks to a steady run of updates and DLC packs. Metacritic score sits at 76.

However, there are two caveats worth knowing about. It uses Denuvo anti-tamper and needs a Frontier account alongside Steam. It's also the heavier of the two, but that's just relative — a GTX 1060 6 GB and 16 GB of RAM are minimum requirements, with 25 GB of storage and an SSD strongly recommended. By themselves, they are pretty modest specs.

Memoriapolis is the more interesting pick for anyone who actually wants a city builder — it's currently priced at $16 instead of $32. 5PM Studio's game covers five eras from Antiquity to the Industrial Revolution. Cities grow organically rather than on a grid, since there are no roads to lay, and no rigid districts as well. The recent Banners & Wonders update was its largest since launch — it gave factions distinct personalities, removed cycle limits, added maps and difficulty levels, and introduced a concrete endgame: build the Eiffel Tower, Neuschwanstein Castle or the Statue of Liberty.

This one sits at "Mostly Positive" — 75% of 1,726 reviews. Its requirements are modest as well — a GTX 1060, 8 GB of RAM and just 6 GB of storage. Please note that it is still tagged as early access despite a 1.0 date of April 2025.

Neither game supports Steam Deck verification.
