Acer Googlebook 14 leak reveals Core Ultra 5 325, 2.8K OLED display and 16 GB RAM

Acer appears to be working on one of the first laptops for Google's new Googlebook platform. The GP714-91N, also known as the Googlebook 14, has shown up in retailer listings and certification records.

The laptop was previously spotted under the "Moonstone" codename in Google's Chromium development work. That platform has been linked to Intel's next-generation Panther Lake processors, although Acer has not yet confirmed the final hardware.

Bluetooth SIG records list several Acer Googlebook 14 variants, including model numbers GP714-91N-50A0, GP714-91N-58Y2, GP714-91N-596Q, GP714-91N-70CH, and GP714-91N-73U1.

The Googlebook 14 comes with a 14-inch OLED display. A European retailer lists the GP714-91N-50HP with a 2.8K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.

Hardware details point to Intel's Core Ultra 5 325 for the listed model. The same reports have also mentioned a Core Ultra 7 355 version, but that model has not appeared in the same retailer listing. The listed configuration has 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

Acer is also expected to add a few features specifically for Google's new platform. These include a physical Gemini key, a Glow Bar near the top of the display, a camera privacy shutter, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and Titan C2 security hardware. A built-in NPU with more than 47 TOPS of AI performance has also been reported.

Acer Googlebook 14 price and availability

The retailer lists the Acer Googlebook 14 GP714-91N-50HP at €1,022, down from €1,125. The listing is currently out of stock but can be ordered in advance. This price is for the Core Ultra 5 model with 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and a 2.8K OLED display.

Acer already has a Chromebook Plus 714 on the market (available on Amazon), so the Googlebook 14 isn't its first 14-inch Chromebook. The new model is more interesting because it is expected to move to Intel's newer Panther Lake processors.

Google is expected to bring its first Googlebook devices to market in fall 2026, with Acer among the companies preparing laptops for the new platform. One retailer has listed November 8, 2026, as a possible release date for Acer's model, but that date has not been confirmed by Acer.
