Former lead writer for Rideshare Stimulator has shared her experience working on the game and the use of AI for its development. Saber Interactive, the developer, has not responded yet.

Saber Interactive recently revealed its new game, Rideshare Stimulator, and along with taking shots at CEOs, they seem to be embracing a trend that the gaming community hates. According to the former lead writer for the game, she was not only replaced with AI, a core component of the game was AI generated.

For those unaware, Rideshare Stimulator is a taxi driving game that has “quirky passengers” with unique stories that are “either captivating, hilarious, or just plain weird.” The announcement trailer shows some interesting conversations between the driver and the passenger. It does not have a release date yet, but is scheduled to launch sometime this year.

Taking to Bluesky, game writer and former Saber Interactive employee, Stella Sacco, shared that she was replaced with ChatGPT midway through the development of Rideshare Stimulator. She added that all the passenger voices were AI generated as well. The passenger dialogues seem to be a core component of the game, and while the studio has not disclosed the use of AI, Sacco explained that the management wanted to use AI because “gamers love new tech.”

From Sacco’s claim, it is unclear if the dialogues themselves were AI generated or if it was just the voices. Regardless, Saber hasn’t disclosed the use of AI, at least not at the time of publishing.
