Asus releases new 16-inch laptop with Ryzen AI 9 H 465, and 165 Hz OLED display

At first glance, the new Vivobook Pro 16 (2026) looks the same as the earlier Intel Ultra 9 version. The difference is inside. Asus has reduced the memory and SSD capacity, creating a more affordable configuration while keeping the same processor, display, and battery.

The earlier Vivobook model (available on Amazon) includes 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. This configuration cuts those to 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. If you need more storage in the future, the laptop still has two M.2 2280 slots for upgrades.

The screen stays exactly the same. Asus continues to use a 16-inch OLED panel with a 2,560 × 1,600 resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate, up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage.

It comes with AMD's Ryzen AI 9 H 465 processor, and Asus uses a cooling system with a 75 mm fan, copper cooling fins, and a D10 heat pipe.

Outside of the memory and storage downgrade, you won't notice many differences. Asus keeps the 80 Wh battery, 100 W USB Type-C charging, and the same 1.65 kg (3.64 lbs) chassis. Features such as the 7.1-inch touchpad, IR camera with Windows Hello, dual microphones, 180-degree hinge, and backlit keyboard also carry over.

In terms of connectivity, it includes one USB4 port, one USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 connector. Unlike the Intel version, the Ryzen model replaces Thunderbolt 4 with USB4. Both support transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.

The new Vivobook Pro 16 configuration will go on sale in China as the Fearless Pro 16 on August 11 for CNY 7,699 (around US$1,140). Asus has not announced availability in other markets.
