MSI releases new 16-inch gaming laptop with RTX 5070 and 240 Hz display

The Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition is a special version of MSI's 16-inch gaming laptop. Compared to the standard Crosshair A16 HX, it adds a Stellar White finish, MLG-inspired graphics, and several bundled accessories.
Inside, the laptop comes with AMD's Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads. MSI offers configurations with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU and 12 GB of GDDR7 memory. OverBoost mode allows the CPU and GPU to use up to 190 W of combined power.
The laptop has a 16-inch QHD+ (2560 × 1600) display with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. It uses MSI's Cooler Boost cooling system with two fans, five heat pipes, and four exhaust vents.
For upgrades, there are two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots with support for up to 96 GB of memory. PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 SSDs are also supported, while SuperRAID 5 is available on selected models.

In terms of connectivity, it comes with a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, HDMI 2.1, multiple USB Type-A ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. MSI AI Engine can automatically adjust system settings based on different usage scenarios.
Besides the white chassis, MSI also includes a matching white keyboard, four-zone RGB lighting, red rubber feet, and custom MLG graphics. The box also includes an MLG Edition gaming mouse, headset, and extended mouse pad. Selected markets will also receive a limited-edition gift box with an MLG character figure.
The standard Crosshair A16 HX is already available through retailers such as Amazon, while MSI says pricing and configurations for the new MLG Edition will vary by region.
