Dynabook launches new lightweight laptops with Intel Panther Lake and user-replaceable batteries

Dynabook is adding nine new laptops to its lineup in Japan. Scheduled to go on sale later this month, the new lineup is headlined by the Dynabook XP9/XP7, X9/X7, and G9, all Copilot+ PCs powered by Intel's Panther Lake processors.

The XP9/XP7 is a thin and lightweight 14-inch model, weighing just 999 g (2.2 lb). More interestingly, the underside features a sliding cover that makes it easier for users to replace the battery themselves. Battery life looks solid, too, with Dynabook claiming up to 15.5 hours of video playback. Other highlights include Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, and HDMI ports.

Meanwhile, the X9/X7 offers the same user-replaceable battery, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors in a more compact 13.3-inch design weighing 948 g (2.1 lb). It also lasts slightly longer, with Dynabook quoting up to 17 hours of video playback. On top of that, Dynabook is adding the G9, another 13.3-inch model that brings the weight down further to just 899 g (1.98 lb).

In addition to the Copilot+ PCs, Dynabook will release the larger 16-inch T9, T7, T6, and T5 with optical drives, alongside the C7 and C6. All models feature the same user-replaceable battery design and Dolby Atmos. However, only the T9 gets a Panther Lake processor, while the rest use older Intel Core Series 1 Raptor Lake CPUs.

Dynabook says the laptops will go on sale in Japan starting August 7, but there is no word on a global launch yet.
