Affordable Intel-powered Chuwi laptop launches with thin and light design

Chuwi has introduced a new Intel-powered laptop, the MiniBook X U300. This is a low-power system that features the Intel U300, an entry-level option from the Raptor Lake-U lineup.

This CPU has a 5-core and 6-thread configuration, and Chuwi paired it with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The memory isn't upgradeable, but users can swap out the storage with a higher-capacity PCIe 4.0 drive.

A big highlight of the laptop is the 360-degree hinge, allowing the system to be in tablet, laptop, stand, or tent mode. Chuwi also highlights that the MiniBook X U300 has a lightweight chassis, measuring around 920 grams (about 2.03lbs). It's also said to be as thin as 11mm.

Of course, this light and thin design comes with a compromise. The laptop has a 10.51-inch display, which isn't much larger than what most compact tablets bring to the table. Chuwi highlights that the thin bezels, paired with a 16:10 aspect ratio, allow the screen to offer an immersive viewing experience.

Speaking of the display, it's an IPS panel with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels, 100% sRGB coverage, and a 300 nits brightness rating. While the laptop has a compact form factor, its keyboard has regular-sized keys, and there's a somewhat decent port selection, which mostly includes two USB-C ports (Anker 7-in-1 USB-C hub curr. $19.99 on Amazon).

The Chuwi MiniBook X U300 has been launched with a promotional price tag of $469. A $30 discount coupon will be available until August 19, 2026, which will bring this Intel laptop down to $439. Check out the spec sheet below to learn more.
