Lenovo has finally released one of its new 13-inch ThinkPad laptops in more countries. Weighing in at under 1 kg, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 AMD can also be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM, 5G cellular connectivity and a larger battery that lasts more than 24 hours in official tests.

At the end of last month, Lenovo finally released the ThinkPad X13 Detachable Gen 1. A Surface Pro 12 alternative, the ThinkPad X13 Detachable Gen 1 is one of three ThinkPad X13 devices that Lenovo has unveiled this year. While the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 was already available in Europe with Intel processors, Lenovo has waited until the summer to start selling AMD-powered alternatives.

Announced in March, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 AMD then reached Australia, East Asia and Southeast Asia towards the end of May. Now, Lenovo's lightweight laptop has reached Europe to replace the ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 we reviewed last year (curr. $1,476 on Amazon). At the time of publication, pricing starts at €2,183-€2,365 in the Eurozone and £2,025 (~$2,744) in the UK.

Those prices include the Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440, a 6-core processor from AMD's Gorgon Point family split evenly between Zen 5 and Zen 5c cores. Additionally, Lenovo includes 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, a 256 GB SSD, a 41 Wh battery, and a 60 Hz IPS display without touch support. For reference, Lenovo wraps all this hardware inside a 299.3 x 207 x 9.85~12.95 mm housing that weighs 953 g.

Alternatively, one can drop the laptop's price slightly by opting for the Ryzen AI 7 445. Meanwhile, the Ryzen AI 7 450 runs to €70/£60 more than the Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440. According to our benchmarks, the Ryzen AI 7 450 is considerably more powerful than the Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440 or Ryzen AI 7 445.

Moreover, the ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 AMD is available with 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of M.2 2280 storage. On top of that, Lenovo sells an optional 5G modem, a carbon fibre hybrid top cover and a touchscreen display that matches its non-touch counterpart with a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution, 400 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB colour space coverage. A 54.7 Wh battery is available too, which is said to last over 24 hours when playing local videos or in the JEITA-BAT 3.0 test at idle. Please see Lenovo's website for more details.

The ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 AMD rises to 987 g with its 54.7 Wh battery.
