To get straight to the point: Performance-wise, users shouldn't expect too much from the Core Ultra 5 322, which sits between the entry-level and mid-range segments. According to our benchmarks, the Panther Lake model performs roughly on par with the older Core i7-1225U and slightly better than the Core Ultra 5 115U.
However, the chip doesn't stand a chance against, for example, the Core Ultra 7 258V and AMD's Ryzen AI 5 435, which also has six cores (not to mention the weak integrated GPU, which we have covered in a separate news article). At least the performance remained fairly stable during the Cinebench loop, as you can see from the graph below.
A major advantage of the Core Ultra 5 322 is its low power consumption. In our tests with the IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 14, its power consumption was generally lower than that of its competitors, which also resulted in excellent battery life. A battery life of more than 15 hours while browsing the web wirelessly is truly impressive.
