Deal | 16-inch gaming laptop with RTX 5080, 32 GB RAM, 240 Hz panel gets $351 discount

There are a lot of great-looking games that have been released and will be released in 2026 and beyond. For instance, we have already gotten the excellent Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, 007 First Light, and Forza Horizon 6. The Unreal Engine 5 remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: Campaign Evolved, is also landing soon.
Then, we have Gears of War: E-Day to look forward to in October. All of these games are graphical showcases and will benefit tremendously from a beefy GPU and CPU combo like the one featured inside the MSI Vector 16 HX AI that is now enjoying a big discount.
The 2025 MSI Vector 16 HX AI under discussion combines an RTX 5080 with the 24-core Core Ultra 9 275HX, 32 GB of DDR5 memory, a 2 TB SSD, and a 16-inch 1600p IPS panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate. As you can probably tell from the specs alone, this machine is not cheap. At full retail, the MSI Vector 16 HX AI SKU mentioned here costs a whopping $2,749.99. MSI has now cut $350.99 off this list price, and the Vector 16 HX AI can now be yours for $2,399.
$2,399 is still a lot for a gaming laptop. But, seeing the state of the market, it seems like a reasonable ask for a gaming notebook with an RTX 5080, 32 GB of RAM, and 2 TB of storage. Just to put this into perspective, the 32 GB DDR5-5600 modules on Amazon cost above $300, while 2 TB Gen 4 SSDs retail at or above $250.
But, once you spend this hefty amount of cash, you can rest assured that the MSI Vector 16 HX AI will be good to go for years to come. In our review of the RTX 5070 Ti version of the Vector 16 HX AI, we noticed that the machine delivers stable performance, is well-built, and has plenty of space for RAM and storage upgrades.
We were also impressed by the port selection, the color-accurate 240 Hz display, and the large 90 WH battery that allowed our test unit to last around 7 hours in our battery life test. In fact, most things that we disliked about the machine are annoyances that you can easily live with.
For instance, we didn’t like the limited opening angle of the display, the keyboard layout, the bulky rear section, and the loud fans. These are issues that will likely not be deal-breakers for many people, especially when using peripherals like a good external monitor and headphones (get the HyperX Cloud 3 on Amazon).
All in all, with the RTX 5080 and the Core Ultra 9 275HX, the MSI Vector 16 HX AI is sufficiently powerful for QHD gaming and high-refresh-rate eSports play. At the current asking price, the laptop makes a lot of sense.
