MSI releases Claw 8 AI+ refresh internationally with new Glacier Blue Edition

Last month, MSI became the first major manufacturer to begin selling a gaming handheld based around Intel's Panther Lake platform. While $1,799 in the US, the Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM delivers massive performance gains over older AMD- and Intel-based handhelds. Please see our recent review to see how the Claw 8 EX compares against existing handhelds.
At the same time, MSI has quietly released a new version of the older Claw 8 AI+. For context, the Claw 8 AI+ debuted in late 2024 in a Sandstorm finish (curr. $1,079 on Amazon). However, MSI refreshed the handheld less than six months later in what it markets as the Polar Tempest Edition with white side plates and twice as much storage as its Sandstorm counterpart.
Then at CES 2026, MSI showcased the same handheld in Glacier Blue and Polar Void finishes. Although the latter has made way for the Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM, the former is now available to purchase internationally. At the time of writing, MSI has priced the Glacier Blue Edition at £1,048.99 in the UK and at €1,299 (~$1,486) in the Eurozone, including taxes.
Currently, MSI expects to begin shipping its new Claw 8 AI+ on July 31, 2026. The new release contains the same underlying hardware as its Sandstorm and Polar Tempest counterparts though, such as an 80 Wh battery, Arc 140V graphics and a 48-120 Hz VRR display.
