New GPD Win Max 3 handheld reveals itself with 128 GB RAM and 165 Hz AMOLED display

It seems that details about the next Win Max are falling into place. For context, the Win Max 2 debuted over four years ago, featuring AMD's Ryzen 7 6800U APU. However, GPD has gradually been refining its 10.1-inch handheld over the years until the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370-based model that arrived at the end of 2024 (curr. $2,176 on Amazon).
According to early reports, GPD will soon be announcing the Win Max 3. Seemingly, information about the device surfaced first on Bilibili via user MuBuS. Droix claims to have received details from an unnamed source, though. Also, third-party retailer GPD Store seems confident that the information shared is accurate. Nonetheless, we would recommend exercising some caution until more concrete evidence emerges.
In the meantime, the Win Max 3 is said to leverage the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 and Ryzen AI Max+ 395 from AMD's Strix Halo series. Apparently, GPD has complemented these chips with a 97 Wh battery and up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-800 RAM, as well as M.2 2230, M.2 2280 and Mini SSD 1517 slots. Moreover, the Win Max 3 is said to measure 207 x 147 x 34 mm, which extends to 207 x 180 x 34 mm with its battery or extended cooling module attached.
Additionally, multiple sources assert that the Win Max 3 contains a 9.06-inch AMOLED display. Combining a 2,400 x 1,504-pixel resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate, this panel could well be a version of the one that Nubia is using in the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro and RedMagic Astra 2. Pricing and availability remain unknown for now, as does when GPD will officially announce the Win Max 3, despite referencing the device in October 2025.
