GPD has recently launched the Win 5 as a powerful gaming handheld. It can be configured with up to the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which is the top-end option from the Strix Halo lineup. This APU also features the Radeon 8060S, the current most capable iGPU from AMD.
However, it seems that the GPD Win 5 won't be the only gaming handheld from the brand that will feature the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. As the company teased, there's a possibility that the GPD Win Max will be offered with the same APU, which is good news for those who were disappointed with the Win 5.
To fill you in, the GPD Win 5 features a different design than its predecessors, ditching the sliding keyboard found in the last-gen models. It also doesn't come with a built-in battery, which makes it a slightly less convenient option for on-the-go gaming (145 W Baseus small 20K power bank curr. $79.99 on Amazon).
As for the refreshed Win Max, it's unclear whether the brand will introduce it in a different design than its predecessor, but it's very likely to feature a larger screen than the Win 5. To look back, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 model comes with a 10.1-inch display.
Of course, GPD didn't say anything with certainty, so there's a chance that the Ryzen AI Max+ 395-powered Win Max may not even see the light of day.
