A new AMD Strix Halo CPU has shown up in the PassMark Database (H/T Moore's Law is Dead on YouTube). Called the Ryzen AI Max+ 388, it has an intriguing CPU and GPU configuration. It comes with an 8-core/16-thread CPU and a Radeon 8060s iGPU, previously exclusive to the top-spec Ryzen AI Max+ 395.
It scores 4,145 and 31,702 in PassMark's single and multi-core CPU benchmarks, respectively. The former is in line with other Strix Halo parts, while the latter is slightly lower than the Ryzen AI Max 385. Key specs, such as its base/boost clocks and GPU clocks, are unfortunately not revealed.
Additionally, the '388' in the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 hints it could be a part of a mid-cycle refresh slated to launch next year, with more SKUs likely to follow. Moore's Law is Dead also talked about a Ryzen AI Max 392, but we were unable to find it anywhere.
A Strix Halo refresh seems plausible, given its successor, Medusa Halo, isn't scheduled to launch until 2027. It will help AMD keep up with Nvidia's N1X lineup, which is expected to debut sometime in 2026.
