Over a month has passed from when One-Netbook first teased the OneXFly Apex under its OneXPlayer sub-brand. Another gaming handheld, the OneXFly Apex combines AMD Strix Halo APUs with up to 128 GB of RAM, an 8-inch VRR display and an 85 Wh battery. Since then, GPD has released the Win 5 featuring the same AMD platform but a smaller 7-inch display, as well as an external battery solution to maximise internal cooling capabilities.
Now, One-Netbook has showcased its first AMD Strix Halo gaming handheld across a series of videos, one of which it has posted on YouTube. Embedded below, the video showcases the OneXFly Apex running Cyberpunk 2077 at 1200p with ray tracing enabled and DLSS upscaling disabled. While this would see AMD Strix Point handhelds like the OneXFly F1 Pro (curr. $1,439 on Amazon) slowing to a crawl, the OneXFly Apex still surpasses 60 FPS throughout.
Also, One-Netbook has clarified that the OneXFly Apex will support an external liquid cooling solution capable of keeping a 120 W TDP in check. At this stage, One-Netbook has not demonstrated how this works, nor how it attaches to the handheld. The company will be hosting a OneXFly Apex launch event on October 28 at 11:00 UTC, during which we presume it will unveil more hardware details.
