A few months have passed since TrimUI released the Brick Hammer globally. However, the Brick Hammer was only a visual refresh of the original TrimUI Brick (curr. $72.99 on Amazon) that arrived last year. Now though, reports have emerged that the company will soon be returning to its much-loved Smart Pro platform.
To recap, the Smart Pro debuted in late 2023 with an Allwinner A133P chipset like many MagicX releases. Additionally, the Smart Pro features a 4.96-inch and 720p IPS display with a 5,000 mAh battery. According to Retro Dodo, it has received word from distributor Mech DIY that TrimUI is on the verge of refreshing the Smart Pro as the Smart Pro S.
Tipped to launch in November, the Smart Pro S is said to expand on TrimUI's original model with a faster chipset, a built-in fan and a 'refined design'. By the sounds of it, the Smart Pro S is the final name of the so-called Smart Pro Mini that emerged over the summer. Apparently, the new model will provide smoother Dreamcast, PlayStation 1 and PlayStation Portable emulation than the Smart Pro, which are all challenges on the Allwinner A133P. Unfortunately, more details about the TrimUI Smart Pro S remain unknown for now.
