The OLED gaming monitor market, though plentiful, is not the most approachable. There are high-performance monitors that offer OLED benefits including vivid colors and fast response times, but they often come with a premium price tag. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6, however, though still in the expensive category, is a much better deal as of now thanks to a nearly 30% discount.

The Odyssey OLED G6 comes in two variants, a 240 Hz and a 360 Hz refresh rate panel. While both are currently discounted, this 360 Hz panel becomes much more approachable compared to its typical price tag. It features a 27-inch QHD 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution with 360 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms response time. This high frame rate support can make room for screen tearing but with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, that can be kept at bay.

It comes with HDR10+ Gaming support, but only 250 nits peak brightness. RTINGS found that the G60SD has “reasonable HDR brightness” but that’s a worthy compromise at this price point. For connectivity, you get one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a 3.5 mm audio out port, two USB-A ports, and a USB-B upstream port.

The included stand with the Odyssey OLED G6 allows for height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustment. It is VESA 100x100 compatible as well. The monitor also has Samsung’s Safeguard+ tech built in which includes a dynamic cooling system, thermal modulation, static image detection, and screen saver settings.
