Compact Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 tablet from Oppo reportedly in the works with OLED screen

Honor is the first to launch a tablet that's powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the Magic Pad 3 Pro 13.3, and it seems that this pad will face some real competition soon. Digital Chat Station, a reliable Weibo tipster, reports that Oppo is working on a flagship phone.

According to the report, it will be a compact Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 tablet featuring an 8.8-inch display. Besides having a small form factor, its OLED screen will reportedly be a big highlight for this upcoming flagship Oppo pad.

If this rumored tablet sees the light of day, it could eventually be rebranded as a OnePlus tablet, which will expand its availability. The tipster didn't share any other information about the pad, but per past reports, it could launch alongside the Oppo Find X9s lineup (Find X9 available on TradingShenzhen).

This upcoming smartphone lineup is expected to bring a compact flagship phone that will be powered by the Dimensity 9500+. While nothing is official yet, recent reports suggest that the Find X9s series could launch in China in early 2026.

Regardless, it will be pretty interesting to see how well this compact Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 tablet compares with upcoming gaming-focused tablets. For reference, RedMagic and Lenovo are among the few notable brands that have been offering flagship tablets in small form factors.
