OnePlus has updated its tablet portfolio with the Tablet 2, less than a fortnight after Oppo introduced the Pad 5. Not to be confused with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Pad 2 that debuted last summer (curr. $499 on Amazon), the OnePlus Tablet 2 is more than just a Pad 2 tablet with an updated chipset.
For instance, the OnePlus Tablet 2 adopts a different design that moves away from the centred rear-facing camera found on the Pad 2. Instead, the Tablet 2 looks more like recent OnePlus smartphones and the Oppo Pad 5 by extension with a small camera housing positioned in the top-left hand side of its 267 x 193 mm housing. Unfortunately, OnePlus only includes 8 MP front-facing and 8 MP rear-facing cameras.
Nonetheless, the OnePlus Tablet 2 combines a 10,165 mAh battery with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset. Aided by 67 W wired charging, the Tablet 2 also features a 12.1-inch IPS display that outputs at 3,000 x 2,120 pixels with 900 nits peak brightness, a 144 Hz refresh rate and up to a 540 Hz touch sampling rate. Currently, the Tablet 2 comes in Azure and Dark Grey colour options at the following price points:
- 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage - CNY 2,799 (~$394)
- 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage - CNY 3,099 (~$436)
- 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage - CNY 3,599 (~$506)
