Sharp has released four new A series projectors for professional use: the XP-A824U, the XP-A104U, the XP-A155U, and the XP-A175U. Arriving in the US as part of the brand’s refreshed lineup, alongside new V series models, these devices are designed for classrooms and meeting rooms.
These Sharp A series projectors have a native WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200 px resolution) with support for a 4K input. Each has a dual blue laser light source with a relatively high brightness level, meaning they can be used in well-lit spaces. The XP-A824U offers up to 7,500 ISO lumens brightness, the XP-A104U 9,000 ISO lumens, the XP-A155U 14,000 ISO lumens, and the XP-A175U 16,000 ISO lumens.
Another feature of the A series is an LCD cooling system, sealed to prevent dust-related issues. There are various geometric image-perfecting tools, and an edge blending functionality for multi-projector setups. Also, they offer picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture modes, and a range of ports including HDBaseT and dual HDMI (HDCP) inputs. Plus, the device is compatible with Crestron, Extron, AMX and PJLink control systems. Sharp is offering a 20,000-hour or five-year (whichever comes first) parts and labor limited warranty.
In the US, prices start from around $12,319 for the Sharp A series XP-A824U projector at retailers like B&H Photo.
