The S7 Ultra Pro is a new 4K projector from Dangbei, which is probably no longer a completely unknown brand. According to Dangbei, this device offers a brightness of up to 4,500 CVIA lumens. It is important to note that these are not ANSI lumens, so potential buyers should definitely keep this in mind, as the numbers are not necessarily comparable. That being said, the CVIA specification is particularly common in China, which is where the Dangbei S7 Ultra Pro comes from.
In China, the Dangbei S7 Ultra is now order able for the equivalent of roughly $2,250, but there’s no pricing info for other markets available just yet. This 4K projector is equipped with a zoom lens, so the throw ratio can be adjusted between 0.98 and 1.6:1. However, this is not an UST projector, which means that it’s designed to be mounted to a wall or ceiling. The biggest projection size is 300 inches, and roughly 11ft of distance are required for a 100-inch projection.
Dangbei further advertises a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 65,000:1 and a native contrast ratio of 8,000:1. HDR 10 and HDR 10+ are supported, as is Dolby Vision. The operating system supports gesture control, voice commands and can access the usual streaming services, which means that no external media player or source is needed. The S7 Ultra also features a special cooling system, which is supposed to be comparatively quiet at just 24dB. Since this product is not available on the US market, home theater enthusiasts might want to check out other 4K laser projectors on Amazon.
