Nubia has finally acknowledged the existence of its next flagship smartphone following recent leaks. To recap, various sources have been suggesting for a while that the company was preparing to replace the Z70 Ultra with a direct successor.
As expected, Nubia has developed the Z80 Ultra, a new flagship based on an initial teaser posted on Weibo. Reproduced below, the teaser only shows a device silhouette. Nonetheless, even this image indicates that the Z80 Ultra follows the same overall form squared-off factor as other recent ZTE devices like the RedMagic 10S Pro or RedMagic 10 Air (curr. $699 on Amazon).
Likewise, a dedicated camera control button is visible to the left of its power and volume buttons, just like the Z70S Ultra before it. At this stage, Nubia has only indicated that the Z80 Ultra will be with us this month, albeit without specifying further. Currently, Nubia is expected to deliver its next flagship with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and up to 16 GB of RAM, a 7,100 mAh silicon carbon battery that supports 100 W wired charging and a 35 mm primary camera.
