Xiaomi has started rolling out HyperOS updates to a new batch of devices. For context, the company had taken a break from introducing software updates due to China's recent National Day Golden Week holiday. With that ending on October 8, Xiaomi has been spotted offering HyperOS3.0.17.0.WPCCNXM to the Xiaomi 17 in China.
While the Xiaomi 17 started out life running HyperOS 3, the same cannot be said for the Redmi Pad 2 Pro. As we discussed during last month's launch, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro debuted with HyperOS 2 just like the Redmi Pad 2 before it (curr. $179.99 on Amazon). Unfortunately, this month's Redmi Pad 2 Pro update keeps it on Hyper OS 2. At the time of writing, Xiaomi will not begin distributing HyperOS 3 to the Redmi Pad 2 Pro until next month at the earliest.
Moreover, the Redmi 13 is now receiving fresh HyperOS 2 updates too, as is the Poco M6. At the time of writing, both handsets will gain access to HyperOS 3 during Xiaomi's second batch, just like the Redmi Pad 2 Pro. By contrast, over 20 other devices have been excluded from receiving HyperOS 3, full details of which we have covered separately.
