Uperfect: Portable 21.5-inch monitor with 120Hz needs just one cable

The manufacturer Uperfect is certainly not one of the best-known brands on the market, but it may be familiar to some customers who are looking for a new monitor. More specifically, Uperfect is now offering a relatively large, portable monitor with a 21.5-inch screen for €280 on Amazon Germany, but a manually selectable coupon drops that price by €50.

The monitor has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is not extremely sharp, but it does offer a 120Hz refresh rate that should make it suitable for gaming, at least according to Uperfect. AMD FreeSync is supported on compatible platforms. However, the response time is a hefty 16 ms. Typical gaming monitors usually just need 1 ms, while OLED displays often have a gray-to-gray response time of just 0.03 ms. The display uses an IPS panel with a peak brightness of 280 nits and a contrast ratio of 1,300:1.

This IPS panel offers native 6-bit color depth, but it also supports FRC, which is essentially a form of frame interpolation. This is intended to allow for full sRGB coverage and 72% coverage of the NTSC color space. Moreover, the portable monitor weighs 4.34 lbs and is about 0.75 inches thick. It also comes with HDMI and full-featured USB Type-C plus an audio output.

As usual, connecting a laptop with only a single cable is only possible via USB Type-C, since HDMI can only transmit video signals but not power the monitor. A kickstand is integrated, but the screen is also suitable for stationary use and can be used with a compatible VESA mount, stand or wall bracket. Lastly, the Uperfect monitor ships with two USB Type-C to Type-C cables, a USB Type-A cable, an HDMI cable as well as a power supply.
