Dual-mode monitors have been gaining a lot of popularity as of late. Adding to the growing list of these monitors, AOC has just announced the U27U3X, a 27-inch IPS monitor featuring a 4K UHD resolution (3840x2160) with a refresh rate of 144Hz and dual-mode display capabilities supporting FHD at 288Hz. It covers 100% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3, and 94% Adobe RGB color gamuts for accurate and vibrant color reproduction. The U27U3X is virtually identical to the recently launched U27U3XD; the only notable difference is sync compatibility - U27U3X supports AMD FreeSync, while the U27U3XD is Nvidia G-Sync compatible.
The monitor boasts a 0.5ms MPRT (Moving Picture Response Time) and a 4ms grayscale response time, combined with 2000:1 static contrast and a dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1. It comes with features such as VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, hardware low blue light panel, and flicker-free technology for eye comfort.
Connectivity options are comprehensive, including dual HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C port with power delivery up to 90W for charging connected devices, and USB 3.2 Gen1 support. The monitor has standard ergonomic adjustments including tilt, vertical rotation, height adjustment, and swivel for flexible positioning.
Additional features include KVM switch for seamless multitasking, Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) support, Adaptive Sync for tear-free gaming experience, Clear Vision function to sharpen images, and several preset color profiles for different workflows.
Currently, pricing and availability information is undisclosed, and the purchase button is greyed out on AOC's website. Alternatively, you can check out the LG 27G850A-B 27-inch Ultragear dual-mode monitor on Amazon.
