With a screen size of 41.5 inches, the AOC AG421UDA is as large as the smallest version of the LG C5 OLED smart TV (from $997 on Amazon), but the compact stand should make the AOC model better suited as a regular PC monitor on a desk.
The monitor is equipped with a WOLED panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 144Hz. AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync are supported, the screen should be a good fit for gaming enthusiasts. AOC also includes support for HDMI Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and a Game Bar for quickly adjusting gaming-relevant settings.
AOC claims that the OLED monitor covers 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color space, while the manufacturer touts a full-screen brightness of 150 nits and an HDR peak brightness of 800 nits at 10% APL. An ambient light sensor can automatically adjust the brightness. The AG421UDA further supports the most important HDR standards, including HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG.
In terms of connectivity, the AOC AG421UDA sports four HDMI ports but entirely lacks DisplayPort or USB-C, so the port selection is similar to TVs. However, AOC does include a USB-A hub with two ports and Gigabit Ethernet. The monitor has 2 x 10-watt stereo speakers and a 30-watt woofer. Combined with an ARM Cortex-A73 quad-core processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB of mass storage, WiFi 6, Android 14 and a Bluetooth remote, the monitor can access the usual streaming apps and services.
