At first glance, the BenQ PD2770U looks like a standard 27-inch 4K monitor. With a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a brightness of 400 nits, and a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, the specifications of the IPS panel are almost boring, especially in view of the monitor's steep price.
The price is primarily justified by its very high color fidelity. The monitor can fully display the Rec. 709 color space, and Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 at 99%. Colors are supposedly displayed accurately across the entire screen, even in dark areas. Hidden at the top of the screen is a colorimeter that allows the monitor to be calibrated fully automatically, without any additional software or hardware. This calibration even allows the colors to be adjusted to the ambient light.
It is possible to synchronize color settings between multiple PD2770U monitors, which is useful for studios with multiple workstations. Settings can be conveniently adjusted using the BenQ Display Pilot 2 app. The included hotkey puck not only allows you to adjust settings such as monitor brightness, but also to select and adjust tools in apps such as Photoshop.
The monitor supports Thunderbolt 4 and can charge laptops connected via USB-C with 96 watts. An integrated KVM switch, a two-port USB hub, two HDMI ports, DisplayPort, Ethernet and a height-adjustable stand round out the features.
