This cheap secondary screen can display various system parameters and should therefore be particularly relevant for gamers. There are various customization options, and the general layout of the display has both advantages and disadvantages.
A new and affordable secondary display is currently available for purchase on AliExpress for around $13. As usual with direct import, returns or replacements in cases of a defect might not be easy or possible at all, but given the low price of this gadget, that’s probably an acceptable risk. That said, delivery to the US supposedly takes about 1 to 2 weeks.
Secondary displays can be used in two different kind of ways. First, there are screens that can be connected via HDMI or DisplayPort and basically work like a regular monitor. On the other hand, there are devices that are controlled via a special kind of software. Both concept have their advantages and disadvantages. For example, an HDMI display can also show images or videos, but such a setup also occupies and additional image output.
This particular display belongs into the second category and is hooked up via USB-C and then controlled via software. The corresponding app offers various configuration options, but the screen is primarily designed to show system parameters such as temperatures or CPU and GPU utilization. The IPS panel measures 1.9×2.9 inches and has a resolution of 320 x 480. It can be used both horizontally and vertically and comes with a fitting stand, but this accessory can also be installed inside a gaming PC case, for example.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
