Millions of gamers have been marked by the Tomb Raider franchise and are eagerly awaiting the release of a new game. But the wait seems to be dragging on, and one fan has decided to create his own project inspired by the license, which will soon be available on PC.
Of course, this is not an official game, and under the name of Tomb Forge, it is led and managed by Tiernan Watson, a huge fan of the franchise and an experienced developer. He made the announcement on X on October 9, specifying that:
"New project in the works! Introducing TombForge - a custom Tomb Raider game engine built from scratch for the development of modern Tomb Raider levels!"
Thus, if you like the old Tomb Raider games, you might enjoy this project, which allows you to create your own adventure with Lara Croft, giving free rein to your imagination and creativity. In other words, you can create your own dungeons with different platforms and paths.
In addition, new features have been added, such as PBR rendering, TRA animations, and TRAOD GMX import. Not to mention that other tools will appear as the project progresses.
Tiernan Watson has also released a video lasting almost a minute to showcase this project, which is reminiscent of certain titles in this franchise, such as Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Finally, it is difficult to know when this work will be completed, but you can always keep a close eye on it to stay informed of its progress.
