Mini PC enthusiasts will most likely be aware of the offerings from GMKtec. The AMD-powered K8 Plus mini PC is one such system from the well-known brand, which packs a healthy set of features and is now available for an all-time low price of just $519.99 on Amazon, courtesy of a lucrative 30% discount. 

At its core, the GMKtec K8 Plus mini PC is powered by the 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 8845HS APU. Although this Hawk Point APU is over two years old as of this writing, it packs a decent punch and is capable of trading blows with newer processors, such as the Ryzen AI 7 350 Krackan Point APU and the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H in multi-core benchmarks. There is no scope for internal discrete graphics, which is hardly a rare sight in the realm of mini PCs.

That being said, the Radeon 780M iGPU is a pretty decent integrated GPU, and should be able to pull off respectable framerates in older titles at modest settings. Clearly, folks with GPU-intensive workloads will either have to utilise the included OCuLink port for fast eGPU connections, or opt for an AMD Strix Halo-powered mini PC, such as the EVO-X2, with discrete-class iGPUs.
