Obviously, the main attraction when it comes to the GMKtec EVO-X2 is its powerful Strix Halo APU that's capable of pulling up to 140 W of power. It features 16 cores, with SMT and running at up to 5.1 GHz, and 64 MB of L3 cache. The AMD APU is also equipped with its own unified memory — DDR5x-8000 in this case — with particularly impressive memory performance that makes it a solid system for both gaming and various productivity workflows.
Part of the benefit of the giant whack of RAM on the AI Max+ 395 is being able to allocate as much as 48 GB of that system memory to the iGPU alone, making the mini PC a great option for an at-home AI workstation or a 3D rendering and animation machine.
The port situation is also not too shabby, with plenty of USB 2.0, USB 3, and USB4 onboard, as well as four display out ports, a built-in SDXC UHS II card reader and dual audio combo jacks.
