The Blackview Link 8 is a new tablet that ships with Android 15 and is offered in two different versions. One comes with 12GB and the other with 6GB of memory, and weirdly enough, the former is currently cheaper and retails for $193 at Banggod. Shipping will take quite a while, depending on the buyer’s location, and the usual downsides of direct imports from China apply here as well.
With that out of the way, this tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100. We have recently reviewed a Xiaomi tablet with this particular chipset and came to the conclusion that it's definitely not a high-end processor. However, many basic tasks like streaming video or browsing shouldn’t be an issue. The SoC features two Cortex-A76 and six Cortex-A55 cores, while the 256GB of internal mass storage can be expanded quite easily via a regular microSD card.
Blackview’s latest tablet is 0.33 inches thick, weighs 1.57 lbs and further offers a 12.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2176 x 1600 pixels and a slightly increased refresh rate of 90Hz. The main camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels, and the front camera has 13 megapixels. Needless to say, speakers and a microphone are built-in. However, a 4G LTE cellular modem is not available, so users will have to rely on WiFi connections. The integrated GNSS module supports GPS, Glonass, Beidou, and Galileo. Lastly, the tablet comes with a charger in the box and is available in a total of three color variants.

My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
