The WO-4 is a new mini PC that is advertised as an all-round system and intended for a number of applications, including gaming. The model comes with an APU from AMD and is available in two configurations.
The Peladn WO-4 is a new mini PC now available directly via Amazon for a base price of $330, which comes with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB SSD. For an extra $100, buyers can double these specs to 32 GB and 1 TB, which represents very good value for money. However, both variants appear to be currently out of stock. This is likely to change very soon, so interested buyers should regularly check these pages.
Regardless of the model version chosen, an AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS is installed, which has six processing cores and can process twice as many threads simultaneously. The Ryzen 5 7640HS is not a bleeding-edge processor, but our review of the GMKtec NucBox M6 Ultra shows that the APU performs just fine in just about all kinds of applications apart from demanding gaming.
The WO-4's storage is particularly easy to expand thanks to a second M.2 slot, although this is only connected via four PCIe 3.0 lanes, not PCIe 4.0 like the primary SSD. Two Ethernet ports are on board, one of which supports a data transfer rate of 2.5 Gbps. Other ports include USB 4, USB 3.2 Type A and USB 2.0. Lastly, HDMI and DisplayPort are available, allowing simultaneous use with multiple monitors.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
