The luxury smartphone manufacturer Vertu is expected to unveil a new luxury flagship smartphone as early as this Thursday, October 16. The handset will supposedly distinguish itself from other phones primarily through an unusual design. Vertu has created a distinctive metal frame, a leather back and a tapered bottom edge.
With a thickness of 0.45 inches and a weight of 9.24 oz, the Vertu Agent Q is extremely bulky, even though the 5,565mAh battery is not particularly large. The phone charges at up to 65 watts via USB-C and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB RAM and 512GB to 1TB of mass storage. Furthermore, customers get access to 10TB of personal cloud storage.
More or less surprisingly, the rear triple-camera setup is nearly identical to the Nubia Z70 Ultra. Vertu will reportedly also offer a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor and a 35mm lens, a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 1/2.88-inch sensor and 64MP f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera with a 70mm equivalent focal length.
While no further technical specifications have been revealed thus far, the images already show that Vertu is focusing on crypto and blockchain technology. The smartphone apparently comes with an app store for blockchain apps and a Bitcoin theme. The camera app is supposed to be able to modify photos via AI and can remove glasses in a portrait, for instance. However, the purpose of the red button on the left side of the phone is still unclear at this point.
