The Optoma Photon Life PK31 projector is now available in countries worldwide. This is one of three new models from the brand, all designed for use at home. It is a 4K device with relatively basic features like an RGB LED light source, an integrated speaker and a single HDMI port.

Optoma has launched the Photon Life PK31 home entertainment projector in countries worldwide. This model sits between two other recently released devices from the brand, the PH31 and the PK32.

The Photon Life PK31 is a 4K DLP projector, throwing images up to 150 inches wide with a 1.5-1.65:1 throw ratio. Image-perfecting tools include 1.1x manual zoom and auto vertical keystone. It has a native aspect ratio of 16:9, though there is also a 4:3 option, and the model is advertised as offering a 200,000:1 contrast ratio. Plus, the 3 LED light source is said to deliver up to 900 ISO lumens brightness; this makes it unsuitable for use in brighter spaces. It is expected to run for up to 30,000 hours and is described as “virtually maintenance-free”.

It is worth noting that users of the Optoma Photon Life PK31 will have to use a TV stick or TV box to access streaming apps. This can be connected via an HDMI 2.0 port, and there is also a 3.5 mm audio jack and an integrated 5W speaker.

In the US, the Optoma Photon Life PK31 projector can be pre-ordered at B&H Photo for $1,099.00. Customers in Europe can pick up the model at retailers like Richer Sounds and Coolblue for £699.00 and €667.90, respectively.
