The Xming Q6 smart projector has been launched in China. It arrives a few weeks after the Q6 Neo projector was unveiled for this market, with both following in the footsteps of the older Q5 series.
Like the Q6 Neo, the new Q6 projector is a 1080p model with HDR10+ decoding and support for 4K content. However, this Xming model’s LED light source is said to deliver a higher brightness level of 500 CVIA lumens. The company has not provided a brightness measurement aligned to an internationally recognised standard like ANSI or ISO lumens. It can project images up to 120 inches wide with a 1.2:1 throw ratio, and there are various image-perfecting tools.
Xming’s Q6 is powered by WanOS, and has two integrated 5W speakers. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth and ports like HDMI 2.0 and USB 2.0. Plus, it can be remotely managed through the Xiaomi Home app and supports HyperOS. On top of the device, there is ambient white and color lighting, with effects which can sync to music. The model has a mint green casing with an adjustable angle stand; it measures 172 x 291 x 286 mm (~6.8 x 11.5 x 11.3 inches).
In China, the Xming Q6 smart projector will retail for CNY 1,799 (~$253) when it launches on October 15th. The company has yet to announce plans to bring this new model to other markets like North America, where it sells several devices under its international brand Formovie; the Formovie X5 4K Laser projector is currently available for $1,249 at Amazon.
