The Photon Life PK32, a new Optoma home theater projector, has been released. This model is already available in Europe and is on the way to the US. The company suggests that its new flagship device is suitable for gaming and watching movies.
Optoma’s Photon Life PK32 has a 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160 px) resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate, though it also supports 1080p@240Hz. It can cast images up to 150 inches wide with a 1.12-1.46:1 throw ratio. The 4LED light source is said to deliver up to 1,100 ISO lumens brightness, meaning it could be used in a moderately lit room. The new model also features a 250,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 1.3x zoom, and it covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Users of the Optoma PK32 can connect a source, like a TV stick, via the two HDMI 2.0 (eARC) or USB-A ports, allowing them to stream content or game. Optoma notes that there is 4.6 ms input lag at 1080p@240Hz, or 16 ms lag for 4K@60Hz content. Plus, there is a 3.5 mm audio jack and two integrated speakers. This model measures 238 x 215 x 130 mm (~9.4 x 8.5 x 5.1 inches) and weighs 2.2 kg (~4.9 lbs).
You can now buy the Optoma Photon Life PK32 home entertainment projector in EU countries like Germany at retailers such as VisuNext. Here, it is priced at €899, and will shortly also launch on Amazon. In the UK, customers can order the model through Richer Sounds for £799, and US customers can pre-order the device for $1,299 at B&H Photo.
